An Introduction to Statamic
If you design and build websites using content management systems (especially WordPress!) then this presentation is for you! There's been a lot of talk about content management systems this past year, especially as it pertains to security, creative control, and user experience.
One type of CMS that has been gaining some popularity is known as the "flat-file" CMS which stores information and content in text files instead of a database. Flat-file CMS platforms are inherently more secure than ones that use a database and many of them provide a much higher level of creative control than other platforms.
One of the more popular flat-file CMS platforms is a CMS called Statamic, a licensed CMS that is extremely designer friendly, easy to use, and is an excellent alternative to other CMS platforms like WordPress. In this presentation, we'll talk about the advantages of using a flat-file CMS like Statamic and explore how Statamic works. We'll also take a brief look at the next version of Statamic which is currently in beta.
