Reimagining the Web in a Virtual and Augmented Reality World

Jeff VanDrimmelen

We have had the same computing experience for the past 20-30 years. We have a computer with a desktop and a 2-dimensional screen to view that content primarily through webpages. What about the new 3D environments that are being created with VR and AR? The adoption of these new technologies is fundamentally changing the way we interact with information and businesses.

Some questions we will consider in this presentation is:

• Will we need 3D apps or spaces instead of websites?

• What examples are there already of other businesses trying to take advantage of this virtual space?

• What tools exist for creating these applications?

• How will marketing and user tracking change in this new virtual world?
